One more day of heat and thunderstorms then cooler weather comes

Finally we are at the end of what should be the worst sustained heat of the summer.  Thunderstorms are drenching the whole Triangle area and in true capbuster fashion temperatures have dropped into the 70's.

Sunday should top off in the low 90's followed by the round of thunderstorms which usher in cooler, cleaner air.  Next week will be a much needed respite from the heat.  I also expect adequate rainfall in the upcoming pattern to begin reversing the dryness that has dominated since last winter.
